It is important to keep your body well-hydrated so it can perform at its best. Water is the best choice, as it is free from kilojoules and won't affect your blood sugar levels.
Other good choices include herbal teas and unsweetened soda water.
Matching the energy you gain from your diet, with the energy you burn from activity is essential for managing your weight.Exercise such as walking, swimming or cycling can be helpful. Aim for 30 minutes every day.

Lower glycaemic index (GI) foods cause blood sugar levels to rise slowly and evenly, giving you longer-lasting energy.
Examples of low GI foods include grainy breads, Basmati rice, and porridge.
Saturated fat can increase your levels of LDL or 'bad' cholesterol. Limit fatty meats, full fat dairy products, fried takeaway food, pastries and cakes.
